— The smile—God, that was wonderful to see.
It filled Levi with so much joy and warmth,
so much happiness. She’d missed that
smile, as rare as it was to see her do so.
But when Lilith did smile, well, it was one
of those litlte things that was unforgettable.
“Me in bars is usually for work or because
I’m bored and like to see what the ‘local’
entertainment is going to be—I think I
picked up on the amusement in bar fights
from you, honestly.’
Their first meeting had been in a bar, where
they had actually talked about things like bar
fights and running away from the inevitable.
That was one of those memories Levi had a
deep enjoyment of. She’d laughed a lot in that
conversation. The jokes were welcome—It was
just like that first day all over again.
“Alright. Yeah. Let’s do that. And why are
you letting me pick? I always pick the
worst places. You should pick, that way
we’re not complaining about stale fortune
cookies and overcooked rice.”

– She chuckled, actually happy to know
that something of her personality had
started ebbing off on the other girl.
"Nothing wrong with a little
watching grown men and
woman trying to fight
over something idiotic.“
Granted she had gotten into quite a
few bar fights herself. In fact, she had
nearly scared one of her teenage visitors
when she had come home with a busted
lip and a black eye. Nothing that couldn't
be fixed, sure, but worrying none the less.
"As far as the Chinese restaurant goes,
then we aren’t going to Magic Wok.
Now, if we’re going for take out, Chinese
Palace has some pretty nice Crab Ragoons.”
She let out a slight laugh. Oh, man,
she even surprised herself at it.
She was started to feel human again,
wasn’t she? If she was, then…
she thoroughly enjoyed it.
